We offer 1/8 beef bundles, which means that you are buying 1/8 of a live animal that then is processed into a mix of premium cuts (steaks, roasts, and ribs) and 85% lean ground beef. The amount of packaged beef per bundle varies by animal, as each will have a unique weight. A typical bundle will have 60-70 pounds of packaged meat. A little more than half will be steaks, roasts and ribs. A little less than half will be 85% lean ground beef. Pricing for the processing and meat is based on hanging weight, which is that part of the animal that is processed into the prime cuts and ground beef. It varies with each animal as we use a number of different processors, and the hanging weight is usually different for each animal. The current price range for a bundle is $300 to $375.

When a beef is harvested and processed into steaks, roasts, burger, etc., we end up with about 43% of the live beef. A 1/8 bundle requires about 2 cubic feet of freezer space, so it will likely fit in your refrigerator freezer with room to spare for other frozen food.
